Last Saturday my parents & I went to the 100 Mile Peanut Pickin’ Yard Sale, which is one of my favorite things to do in the fall. We missed last year due to hurricane Michael coming through, so I was extra excited for this year. There’s always so many interesting things to see! Plus I always meet some interesting people as well. I’m going to share some things I saw, people I met, & of course my yard sale finds with y’all today. There’s also a YouTube video to go along with it & hopefully it will all post at the same time!

Yard Sale Finds
You never know what you might find at a yard sale & when it’s 100 miles long, there’s even more to see! This yard sale runs from Moultrie to Unadilla Georgia along two rural highways. In the towns along the way, there were bigger groups of people along the main road. There were also lots of places to stop in between. We saw everything from old tractors….
To odder things like the “self wiper” on the front of the table in this picture…
I also took this picture because of the cool oil cans. It seems I remember someone posting a picture of their oil can collections, but I couldn’t remember who! Now that I’m looking back at this picture, I’m regretting I didn’t notice the old CD holder. It would have been great for a little makeover project!
One of my favorite things about events like this is meeting other makers. There are always people selling their makes among the yard sale items. The first ladies I met had a whole table of cute containers they had made from recycled, well, containers!
How neat are those? These makes are by Lucille Boston of El”Lue Creations. Check her out on Facebook or email her at lucytownsboston at gmail dot com.
Next I found a lady that makes home decor things with wood & paint. I was drawn to the paint pouring on the trays she had. You can contact this maker at Buildagirls at yahoo dot com.
There were crocheted hats on the next lady’s table, but she didn’t make those. She does, however, do embroidery & had the cutest bibs & onesies for sale! Her name is Cheryl Card & you can find out more at Southern Georgia Peach.
The last lady I found had a whole booth dedicated to her craft & it was beautiful! There was tie-dyed everything & these HUGE dream catchers.
She does classes to learn more about tie-dye techniques. You can find her on Facebook & Instagram as @SoulSistersDyeCrafts.
I hope y’all will go check these ladies out & tell them I said hello! : )
My Thrifty Finds
So, what came home with me? If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen some of my haul. Of course, I’m going to share it here too! First up is this pile of framed art I picked up for just $35! This “yard sale” was actually in a metal building that belonged to a lady that used to do interior decorating. She was ready to be rid of some stuff!
Now, I don’t have individual pictures of each frame, but I’ll be showing them off in the YouTube video that goes along with this. I picked up 10 large ornate frames & the one on top has a mirror in the center. I’m not really a fan of the art work in the frames, but I was a fan of the frames. I’ve got big plans for these frames, so stay tuned!
My next find was these 3 bags of cool stuff…
The man that was selling them had a whole table of bags like these & I think I got the best ones! He also had a stand out front selling racks he had made from found objects. They were really neat & I’m kicking myself for not taking a picture! The first bag was full of all kinds of knobs & handles…
They are metal, wood, plastic, ceramic, & even two glass knobs! These will be great for all kinds of things! Here’s what was in the other two bags…
One bag had all the silver ware & part of it is at least silver plated. The other bag had the two wooden bowls, a fold out measuring stick, heart cookie cutters, & a weird, wooden rolling pin looking thing. I paid a whole $10 for all 3 bags! : D
Another great find was this ginormous spool of cotton/poly twine for just $4!
If I use this up in my lifetime, I’m doing some serious making! I have already used some on my recycled light bulbs project from earlier in the week.
Well y’all, that’s my haul! Don’t forget to check out the video on YouTube to see more. It will probably be up a little later than this post. Have a great weekend! : )
These are wonderful finds. Where is this mile long pickin located? When? We may have to try and make it one day.
It’s in Georgia between Unadilla & Quitman along rural highways. You can’t miss the signs & people when it’s happening! 🙂
