It’s time to make March goals! While I didn’t meet all my goals for February, I did complete some things that weren’t on the list. Sometimes my maker mojo takes me down a different path that planned! Nothing wrong with that! : )
Maker Stash Down
For the Maker Stash Down the main goal is simple – make from your stashes. There won’t be monthly challenges this year, more like monthly motivation. I’ll do a monthly blog post here on the blog telling y’all what my goals are, how I’m progressing, & sharing all my makes. Y’all will be able to share your progress in the Facebook group. It will still be a fun place to share makes & encourage each other’s progress. 🙂
February’s Goals
This is a punch-list of my goals for February & how I fared. I’ll put pictures & more details below the list.
- Monthly Projects
- Valentine quilt – This will be finished before the end of the month! I still have one more day y’all!
- Crocheted top – I did not work on this at all.
- QAL Catch up – All caught up on the Cotton Cuts Mystery Quilt, yay!
- Carry Over Projects from January
- Wall quilt – still waiting to be ironed, which I will do tomorrow
- Knitted sweater – made progress on the sleeves
- Stack of sewing – need to finish some clothing items which will go along with a goal in March
- New Projects
- I had none planned, but I did finish some, which I’ll share below.
Alright, that’s the basic break down of how the month went for my goals. I’m thinking I’ll make my larger projects, like the knitted sweater, a long term goal. Getting it done in portions rather than one chunk will make it easier to accomplish. It will also keep me from feeling like I’m not getting anything done, when I am. : )
February Projects
The first thing on my list for February was to make the pile of “love” quilt blocks into a wall hanging. I will have the top finished by tomorrow, but it will have to go into my “to quilt” pile for now. It will still give me a finished flimsy before the end of the month – yay!
I didn’t get a chance to work on the crocheted top at all this month, but I did make progress on my knitted sweater…
I’ve got about two-thirds more to do before I can finally seam it together. I did manage to get caught up on my Cotton Cuts Mystery Quilt blocks…
While I have yet to even start on my Murder Mystery quilt blocks, I’m glad to have one on track. The Cotton Cuts quilt only has 3 months left! I also finished a larger crochet project this month that wasn’t on the list…
I even have the ends woven in & a label added! This lapghan is headed for donation to a nursing home. It also put a slight dent in the yarn stash, lol! I also started a scrappy granny square blanket this month…
This one left a visible {although small} dent in my stash! See those empty spots in my rack??
All in all, I accomplished some great things this month & I’m looking forward to more making in March!
March Goals & Projects
Each month, I’d like to pick projects to work on. Anything I didn’t finish from the month before will stay on the list & I’ll add a few more. Here are the projects I’d like to finish for March, not including what’s left from above!
Finishing Clothing ~>
I have several “clothing in progress” items in my sewing pile & I plan on finishing those up this month. I’m also going to finally do the hems & neckbands in these 5 T-shirts!
Quilt Along Catch Up~>
I want to pick out fabric & make the first 3 blocks for the 2020 Murder Mystery Quilt from Whipstitch. I’m also going to make a plan for using the blocks from the 2018 Murder Mystery Quilt I never finished. It was a center medallion type quilt & I think I only did parts for the first 3 or 4 months. I don’t plan on finishing it, rather turning it into something else.
New Projects ~>
I got this kit off of Lion Brand when they had one of their sales last year. It was supposed to be made for a Christmas gift, but that didn’t happen. I plan on it being ready for this year!
I think those are some nice goals for this coming month!
How to Participate in the Maker Stash Down
For the Maker Stash Down, it’s more about making goals & meeting those goals. Goals related to creative endeavors, of course! For example ~>
- I set some goals above for the month, which I will share in the group.
- I’ll share my progress on my goals throughout the month in the group, with a recap at the end of the month here on the blog.
It’s really that simple! Join the Facebook group, share your goals, share your progress on your goals, & be entered to win a $20 Amazon gift card.
I don’t want anyone to feel intimidated by this. Your goals are your goals, it’s not a competition. It’s about being in a space that you can feel encouraged to flex your maker muscles! Setting goals is the first step in motivating your maker mojo. It gets those creative juices flowing!
Now, this is a stash down, so you are encouraged to work from your stash of supplies. I realize not everyone has a large maker stash to work from & I don’t want to leave anyone out. That’s why I’ve based it on creative goals & not just decreasing the stash. 🙂
Happy making y’all!
