It’s time to make September goals! How can it be September already??? I’m not going to complain too much because I’m looking forward to the weather cooling. School started back in August for us & took up some of my making time. I did manage to finish some of my goals from August, so let’s take a look at those!
Maker Stash Down
For the Maker Stash Down the main goal is simple – make from your stashes. There won’t be monthly challenges this year, more like monthly motivation. I’ll do a monthly blog post here on the blog telling y’all what my goals are, how I’m progressing, & sharing all my makes. Y’all will be able to share your progress in the Facebook group. It will still be a fun place to share makes & encourage each other’s progress. 🙂
Check out the links below to see my previous goals ~>
August’s Makes
There are more things on this list than I expected! I did finish some of the things I wanted to from July, so that makes me feel a little better. Sometimes I feel like I did very little until I “pile” it all up! : D
Yarny FOs
I love this scarf! It’s so long & drapey & I can’t wait to wear it!
This shawl turned out much larger than I expected…
These two were not on my list, but they did help clear out some yarn in my shoe rack. If you watch my videos, you know what I’m talking about!
I managed to finish all but one of the patterns from the Scrubbie Crochet Along! The fuzzy yellow one & the one on the bottom left are just free-form dishcloths.
Y’all I dismantled a sweater & it was so much fun! The one I showed originally didn’t work out, but this one did & I can’t wait to make something new with it. : D
I wanted to share the pattern I’m hoping to make with this, but I cannot find it at the moment – bleh!
DIY FOs
I only managed to finish one of my Mary Maxim jewelry club kits. Well, technically there’s one more pair of earrings to make, but I’m not sure I want to make it…
I also just realized there’s not a listing for this club on Mary Maxim anymore! Hmmm…good thing I was planning on canceling it anyway!
Sewing FO
One garment finished off my list! I accidentally tagged the wrong Caroline on Instagram, but she happened to be a new sewist! Serendipitous!
My 1st Cotton Cuts Puzzle Mystery Quilt top is finished!
I did a whole blog post about the new one I signed up for, so go check that out if you’re interested.
Yarny WIPs
This one is kind of an FO & a WIP. I had it on my list to finish all the squares for the Dahlia Crochet Granny Square Blanket from Make & Do Crew & I did! Now I just need to block them & sew them together.
I started this last month because I was itching to start something new. Ever get that itch?
Now for some lingering WIPs I really need to finish! First a couple of knitting projects…
And last a fluffy crochet project!
This is a kit I bought a while back for the Luxe Faux Fur Cowl by All About Ami. So fluffy and soft!
Sewing WIPs
I started these blocks a while back and did a whole blog post about them. I’d like to get them sewn up with the bordered fabric shown this month. That would be one more quilt top off my list!
These were made with mini charm packs I collected while I was a member of Fat Quarter Shop’s Mini Charm Pack Club.
I only finished one of my clothing projects in August, but I did start the shirt shown below.
Just a little bit done, but hopefully I’ll get it finished & the jacket I had on last month’s list.
September Goals & Projects
This month I’m going to concentrate on the WIPs I shared above & try my best to bust through them! Since I had so many I didn’t finish in August, I’m not going to add anything new this month.
How to Participate in the Maker Stash Down
For the Maker Stash Down, it’s more about making goals & meeting those goals. Goals related to creative endeavors, of course! For example ~>
- I set some goals above for the month, which I will share in the group.
- I’ll share my progress on my goals throughout the month in the group, with a recap at the end of the month here on the blog.
It’s really that simple! Join the Facebook group, share your goals, share your progress on your goals, & be entered to win a $20 Amazon gift card.
I don’t want anyone to feel intimidated by this. Your goals are your goals, it’s not a competition. It’s about being in a space that you can feel encouraged to flex your maker muscles! Setting goals is the first step in motivating your maker mojo. It gets those creative juices flowing!
Now, this is a stash down, so you are encouraged to work from your stash of supplies. I realize not everyone has a large maker stash to work from & I don’t want to leave anyone out. That’s why I’ve based it on creative goals & not just decreasing the stash. 🙂
Happy making y’all!
