That’s an odd title, but that’s basically what I was doing today, decorating for fall! After I moved chairs off the porch, filled jugs with water, & washed the laundry, that is exactly what I did. It’s a little late, since the calendar has said it’s fall for almost a month. Really, it just hasn’t felt much like fall in my neck of the woods. This will be a short post today & by the time it {hopefully} goes out, I’ll most likely be hunkered in my safe spot crocheting!

All Through the Seasons
Until earlier today, my mantel shelf still held my spring/summer decor. It seemed appropriate since the temperatures are still in the 90s here! This is the same picture I showed in my post about making mixed media decor. You can see how I made the frame in this post.
My dad built this mantel shelf out of an old headboard & piece of wood. It’s been fun to decorate through the seasons. I hung it up for the first time in December 2016 after I did a little sheet rock removal in my living room!
That’s also the first time I decorated it for Christmas! You can read more about it in this post.
Once the holidays were over, my mantel felt a little bare. I decided to decorate it for Valentine’s Day with some DIY projects & black and white photos from our wedding. Ya’ll can check out that post right here. It also includes a recipe!
When the weather started warming up, it was time to change it out again for spring decor. As usual, this includes many DIY projects as well & you can find the post right here.
This past fall, I opted to decorate for Halloween. I think it turned out great!
Christmas was much the same last year, with a few tweaks here & there. I shared this picture in my last ornament post for last year’s sew-along.
Now we’ve rolled all the way around to fall 2018! I’m keeping things simple this year & just changing out the small stuff. I’m not sure I’m totally finished with it because that blank space at the top of the frame seems to need something. I just don’t know what yet!
Sorry if the picture is a little dark, it’s very cloudy here today. You can find out about the reversible sign on the mantel here & the one hanging to the right here. The two crocheted pumpkins are made by me & I used this pattern from Cynthia Banessa.
I hope anyone in the path of hurricane Michael stays safe & dry. See y’all Friday, as long as I’m able to! : )
Kristie, I enjoyed seeing your mantle photos and love the one for fall. Saying a prayer for everyone in the hurricanes path to stay safe.
Thank you Joyce! We are safe & just waiting for the power to come back on. I’m borrowing my parents power at the moment! : )
Sounds like you came through the storm pretty good. What a great time to focus on doing fun things like crafting! Nice to be able to borrow power. You have awesome parents and are lucky they are still with you and close.
We were fortunate to have little damage, although we are still without power. There were so many power lines down! I am very happy to have family close by! : )
