Being that it finally started feeling like fall here, I thought it was time to make a fall tree! Well, it really feels like it skipped fall a little & went straight to winter. I had a little frost on my window this morning y’all! Anyway, this is the last tree in my set of seasonal trees. I also did a little video about it that will come out tomorrow. Hope y’all enjoy!

See all the trees!
Parts of a Fall Tree
I decided to use the lighter end of the blue ombre fabric I used on my summer tree. This fabric is really awesome & I still have a little bit left to play with! : D
I knew this yarn would be perfect for my fall tree! Plus, I have tons of it & I’ve only used a little once in my framed weaving.
All the fluffy yellow fiber is attached to two looped strands of blue. It was one of those bags you find at Joann’s sometimes for $5 that is just mill ends & has no label.
I had a hard time getting the color to show up right in the photos, but I think this one shows it best.
Time to make a trunk!
Putting it all Together
I’m using some brown acrylic & silk mohair for the trunk. I just lay these out how I like them & stitch them down with a slanted zigzag stitch. This is small enough to hold down the yarn without sticking out too much. I also add some batting to give it more stability.
For the “leaves”, I sewed down just the blue edges of the yarn. This time I used a zigzag stitch because it was wider. I also managed to miss some of it!
No one will ever see it because the fluffy yellow bits cover it up just fine!
I really love how this one turned out! It was really the easiest one I’ve made so far. Like I said earlier, the photos really don’t show the colors that well. I plan on taking it outside for photos once I’ve completed the banner.
Almost Finished
All four trees have the corners cut off on one side. This really happened because the first tree had a chunk of fabric missing in corner, but I’m glad it happened that way! I’ve got fabrics picked out for each corner – spring, summer, fall, & winter.
Here’s all the trees together with their potential corners…
I plan on adding a border between them with this leftover denim fabric from my husband’s quilt.
Maybe I’ll add the season name under each tree. What do y’all think? I didn’t quite get around to stitching it all together, but hopefully I’ll have it finished for the Monthly Roundup. Be sure to check out the video that goes along with this below!
Pin it for later!
