I have missed two months of doing a favorites post! Since it’s the first month of the new year, I think it’s a great time to get back to it. These posts are just about the things I’m loving right now & things that make my day a little better. It’s always good to look around for the positives in life, so we don’t get caught up in the negatives. Things have been a little crazy since October, but I’m ready for a fresh start in January 2019!

Winter Roses

I posted this picture on Instagram last week & I also shared these in my last podcast. They were so wonderful to see this time of year, I had to share them again here!

These were blooming on my rose bush named “Betsy”. It’s unusual to see blooms on either of my rose bushes this time of year. Even though this winter has been a very wet, mild winter, I don’t usually see blooms again until spring. Nature can be so amazing!

Crafty Friends

I think I’ve included crafty friends in my favorites list before, but they will always be there! I’ve met so many wonderful people through blogging & now podcasting. This Christmas really snuck up on me which left me feeling like I was struggling to keep up with gifts & all the other such & such that goes with this time of year.

I received two wonderful packages from friends across the globe. It really warmed my heart that they took the time to make things for me & I wanted to share that with y’all.

These items all came from my friend Sky! She made me a needle keep, luggage brooch, handmade card & sign, & some other crafty goodies. Go check her out on Instagram, she’s always making amazing things! : )

The second package came from my friend Guida. There were some buttons, a handmade ornament, & a wonderful card & letter. My favorite thing was this hand embroidered sign…

Isn’t it wonderful? This was such a delight to see & one of the best gifts I’ve received! It makes me smile every time I see it. : )

Hand Trucks

Okay, this may be a weird thing to have on a favorites list, but let me explain! This past Wednesday my dad & I took my son back to Atlanta where he goes to college. He had to move into his new apartment, which is on the 9th floor….

Dad had the forethought to bring his hand truck, which was the biggest help! We were able to get all of my son’s things up in just 2 trips. Yay!

Another thing we were very grateful for was a working elevator! The last apartment my son live in was a basement apartment with no elevator. So we moved him in & out of that one – up & down the stairs.

Dad & I were also grateful that he had a Peach Pass, which he was able to use on the drive back. That let us skip traffic going 35 miles per hour! : D

This & That

I just wanted to share some fun photos that have made me smile recently!

There’s a website called Year of Colour that’s run by a husband & wife team. You can put in your Instagram handle & it will pull colors from all the pictures you posted for the year to make a dot image. I think this is really cool way to look at the year! I didn’t expect to see so many neutral tones…

You can also plug your Instagram handle to Best Nine & see a grouping of your most liked images. I was happy to see some of my favorites were in the top nine!

Of course there were the pics of me being goofy & a random strawberry pic as well! So, here’s one more goofy pic for y’all before I go…

Hope y’all are having a wonderful 2019 so far! : D
