Y’all this past week has been trying – trying to drive me mad! Between finishing classes for the spring break, vehicle troubles, & vet visits I’m pooped! This is the post that should have went out Friday, but did not because of all the madness. It does have things for sewers & crocheters as well, so I’m posting it today instead. : )
Since it’s March, & March is for makers, I’m going to share some fun challenges happening around the web & some links to fun things to make. Y’all join in, get your hands dirty, & make something awesome during all this March maker madness! {Which is much more fun than this past week’s madness! ; ) }

Maker Movement
Some people may wonder – what’s this March maker madness all about? Well, it’s really about people that make things celebrating the joy of making things & supporting the small businesses {& people} that go along with the making. There has been an upturn in the Maker Movement over the past few years. I think it’s because some people want to take their life back & actually enjoy the work they do.

March Maker Challenges
I think most of these last the whole year, but March is a good month to jump in and start making!
- If you’re looking for a new QAL, you should check out Busy Hands Quilts QAL link up. There’s at least one on the list, Moonlit Paths, that doesn’t start until the end of March. It’s not too late to join up & have fun!
- Mini Album Makers Challenge ~> This looks like a really fun challenge & there are prizes! You get to see all the makes from bloggers in the blog hop for inspiration too.
- Year to a better you 6-word story challenges from Page Flutter ~> I really like this because it’s a story in 6 words & that’s not as easy as it sounds! It would be a great prompt challenge for people looking to journal or spark writing ideas.
- SanDee & amelie’s Steampunk Challenges ~> Steampunk style is something that I really love! This is a mixed media type maker challenge & there are some really neat makes to see! My son dressed in a steampunk style one Halloween. Here’s the jacket & hat I made for him, albeit dusty & wrinkly from being shoved in a corner! Thanks son! ; P

Maker Shopping
Whether you’re shopping for maker supplies or maker wear, you should check out Etsy. It’s full of other makers making things for makers! Ha! Check out some of these fun maker products:
- makers mark stamps! There are many options for custom stamps to mark all kinds of materials from wood to paper.
- A maker tote to carry makes in progress {MIP} around wherever you go!
- They have maker tees as well! This may be just the thing to wear when you’re in the midst of maker madness! I’ve got my eye on this purple number….
- There are all sorts of kits available on Etsy for just about anything you want to make. I just discovered this set from Oh My Yarn Studio, which uses a pattern from one of my favorite crochet pattern designers – Lalylala. So CUTE!! You can even buy them already made if crochet is not your thing.
No matter what you make, I hope everyone will join in the March maker madness! Make something awesome, share your makes, & make new friends. I wonder how many times the word “make” is in this post??? : D
