Last year I did a series of wish lists for gift ideas for different kinds of makers. This time, I’m sharing a mega maker wish list that includes all forms of making! Well, it will include as many forms as I can think of anyway! What better place to look for that extra special maker gift than maker central – Etsy? It’s a great place to find handmade items, but it’s also a great place to find tools of the trade. Let’s take a peek at all the maker goodies! : D

Fiber Arts

This section is filled will fabulous finds for all those fiber lovers out there! There’s nothing quite like taking a skein of yarn or piece of fabric & turning it into a master piece.

Crochet & Knitting

hand turned crochet hook from Hen Pecked Hooks or handmade wooden knitting needles from Turtle Creek Woodshop would be an awesome addition to someone’s tool stash!

Labeling crocheted & knitting items can be tricky. A set of custom leather labels from Intaglio is the perfect gift for someone looking to tag their fiber makes.

Bur Oak Studios has the neatest things made from recycled crochet hooks & knitting needles! My favorites are the earrings made from crochet hooks & shawl pins made from knitting needles.

Sewing & Quilting

This sewing wall decor from Mod Pop Deco is a wonderful way to brighten up any sewist’s space. They also have sets & gold foil prints!

Pins are a great way to share your love of sewing with the world. This enamel sewing pin from Justine Gilbuena made me smile! It’s so true! : D

Every sewer knows that a good pair of scissors is key in the sewing room. This fabric scissors set from Bamboo MN includes fabric shears, thread snips, & pinking shears at a great price – just $20 y’all!

Now, buying fabric for a quilter can be iffy if you don’t know what you’re looking for. I will say that a fat quarter bundle would be a great choice because not only is it great for quilts, it’s great for fabric swaps. It’s like currency for quilters! I love looking through Needle & Foot Fine Fabrics selection of fat quarter bundles because she has some with fabrics from different designers.

Weaving & Spinning

I have done very little weaving & absolutely no spinning, but hopefully I’ve come up with a few things that would make great gifts. This box of merino wool tops from Fantasy Textiles seems like it would be a wonderful gift for a spinner.

The Handy Woman has everything from glass bobbins to mini working weaver jewelry. I thought that was pretty neat!

This Eucalan wool wash from Mielkes Fiber Arts seems like it would be great for all sorts of fiber goodies.

Embroidery & Tatting

Here’s an embroidery kit from Lynny Lou Crafts that you can customize by changing the word & color choices. It comes with all the floss, hoop, needle, & fabric. You could have it spell out the makers name!

These hedgehog bobbins from Pip and Chip were just too cute not to include! I love the way the thread hooks into it’s mouth. : D

Tatting is very delicate, beautiful work. Make it more beautiful for the maker with this handmade tatting shuttle from The Knotted Vine.

DIY

While I consider all making a form of DIY, this section is for those that like to get a little dirtier when they make!

Wood Working

I’m always laying things down & forgetting where I laid them when I’m making. Maybe a custom leather tool belt from Looking Glass Memory would be a solution. Of course, I’d have to remember to put it on! : D

Most wood workers would appreciate this vintage hand planer from Northern Nic Nacs. It’s a great piece of maker history & it probably still works!

I spotted this Tsubaki blade oil from Remedy Brand when looking for wood working tools. This is supposed to help slow tarnishing & dulling of bladed tools.

Jewelry Making

I use a peg board to hold my pliers, but this plier holder from Barbara Pape Designs would be great as well.

My mouth literally came open when I saw this jump ring opening jewelry from Findings Keepings. I used these all the time & this seems like a wonderful tool to have. I may have put one in my cart…. ; )

Jazz up a jeweler’s space with this jeweler sign from ez Street Signs Com. They have all kinds of colors & other wording options.

Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking

These hand carved stamps from Enchanting Stamps are so beautiful! I found this shop through Instagram. Anyone care to guess what caught my eye…. : P

My Teacher’s Cupboard has these awesome glowing glass dip pens! Through in some rose gold glitter bottled ink & it’s like the magic wand of writing!

No paper lover could resist a bag of ephemera from Random Paper Etc. Y’all don’t really know it yet, but I have a paper collection that rivals my fabric stash! ; )

Painting & Refurbishing

I laughed when I found these “paint water” & “not paint water” coffee mugs from Stellar Rabbit Studios. There may have been times when my paint water cup was mistaken for my coffee mug….just sayin’!

I really love these patterned paint rollers from The Painted House. It’s a neat way to add some pattern to a painted wall or piece of furniture.

Okay, this The Kintsugi Kit from Mora Approved is the most awesome thing ever! Taking a broken piece of pottery, accenting the crack, & making it more beautiful – genius!

Well, I hope y’all liked my mega maker wish list! These lists always get me in trouble because I find more things I need/want when I’m researching for the post. I’m going to leave y’all with one last link for a coffee mug from Intaglio because it made me laugh. Maybe y’all will laugh too! : D
