Y’all where is this year going?!? Summer is almost over & school starts back soon & I just can’t believe it’s that time again already! This year will be so different because my son graduated & will be headed to college soon. It’s a weird bittersweet feeling because I will miss him, but I don’t have to get up at the crack of dawn to make sure he catches the bus anymore! Yay!
There is so much happening right now & I can’t wait to share it with y’all, so let’s see what’s been going on this July 2017!

Affiliates ~>
I’ve been perusing the web looking for more great crafty affiliates for y’all. I also spent some time sprucing up my Affiliates page, so you can learn more about them & their awesome products! Here are my two newest affiliates:
Crafty News
Crafty Friends ~>
I have met so many wonderful people through my blog, Instagram, & Facebook groups. Crafty friends are the best! I wanted to share some happy mail I got all the way from Australia!
Look at that cute fabric! I have plans to make something special with it. ; ) It will go well with some other mushroom-y fabric I got from a crafty friend. I smell another project brewing! : D
The 100 Day Project ~>
See the big finish on my Instagram account & look up #100daysofteadoddles to see the whole progression! I was going to post the picture here too, but I’m having some technical difficulties with that. : ( How about a picture of my dog loving on it? He is so in love with this but I can’t wash it so I have to watch him or he might take it!
Crochet ~>
I’ve been testing out some Amigurumi patterns for Two Hearts Crochet. They have so many cool ami & afghan patterns & they are all free! This is the latest one I tested – Wonder Woman!
I’m working on some others, so watch for them next month or on Instagram. : )
QAL’s ~>
Here’s what I’ve managed to catch up this month!
Quilting Life Block of the Month from A Quilting Life ~> I chose to do the 6″ squares for this QAL so I would have enough to do all the blocks in a certain fabric collection {which is rare for me!}.
The Scrappy Stashbuster Club from Intrepid Thread ~> This is not a QAL but I enjoy receiving the emails with blocks & recipes. {Although, it does not occur once a month as it states} Those feather/leaf looking blocks are completely different than the pattern. I wasn’t paying attention to the directions! I’d like to try again & maybe make a lap quilt with the pattern.
Murder Mystery Quilt from Whipstitch Modern Sewing ~> I finally got started on this quilt! You would think I would have started it first since it’s a paid subscription, but no! I’m using a kind of intentional scrappy fabric collection for this one. It’s a little different…
I’ve also got to “improvise” some on the top & left because my squares aren’t big enough. Oops! I really like the color palette & I don’t know if this photo does it justice.
Other Sewing…
Fandom in Stitches – Warehouse 13 block designed by Angela Gross ~> I got one more block finished & have received another, but it hasn’t posted on the site yet, so no pic today! Soon I’ll have enough for a whole quilt!
Summer Sew Along from Needle & Foot Fine Fabrics ~> I did finish the hems, armholes, & necks of both my shirts. Unfortunately I’ve got to fix the armholes on both tops. Somehow I made the sleeveless armholes too small in the alteration process & the sleeves too big in the other one. Boo!
Check out all the testers {including me!} for the Ultraviolet Tee over at SeamstressErin Design’s.
Don’t forget to check out the Great Links section in the sidebar for links to great linky parties, QAL’s, & such! It’s below the post if you’re reading this on a mobile phone. Also, check out my Pinterest profile for more crafty inspiration!
Coming up in August…..
DIY ~>
I finally got my office reorganized! It’s looking so much better, besides the ugly faux paneling. That will change eventually!
That cork board on the floor will go up above the shelf as soon as I get some command strips. I even hung up some of my son’s artwork – his self portrait ~>
My dad built the frame which is great because it doubles as a shelf! I’ll be tackling that ugly beige filing cabinet this month. Although, I may swap it with the one I did for my craft room since I’m changing the color scheme in there….hmmmm….. we shall see!
I’ll also be doing something with this really neat root I found at my dad’s. It kind of looks like a dog with a really big mustache!
August SAL ~>
I promised y’all a QAL for August, but how about a SAL? My friend Monique {of Farmhouse Quilts} and I have been working out the details for a Christmas ornament sew along. It will start on August 14th & a new design will be released every 2nd & 4th Monday thru December. That means there will be 10 designs total! Be sure to sign up for the Facebook Group & grab a button to share! You can also sign up for our newsletters so you don’t miss anything.
I hope y’all have a wonderful weekend & go make something!
Eeeeeee ?? all the feels ?? and so much to comment on! I’ll start at the top – still hearting that fabric ? I loved watching your 100 day project process ? if you want more amigurumi ideas, check out Sarah and duck, there’s free toy and hat patterns ? Loving all your BOMs/qals, especially seeing your murder mystery QAL coming along, I was so tempted to pay for that one. I think it’s great that people use pattern testers, it’s so frustrating trying to read and sort out a pattern that hasn’t been thought out well or tested with others (for mistakes or issues). Umm what else?…that root Does look like a doggie ? – there’s a lady I love on Insta that takes a photo of a scrap of paper, then colours/draws it into something, it’s fun to guess what it’ll be ??
Skye, your comments always make me smile! ? Sarah & Duck is a new one for me, but they are cute! This is my 2nd murder mystery quilt & it’s quite different than the 1st. Pattern testing is fun! There’s usually a group involved & a free pattern, which is always a plus. ? The sketching lady sounds interesting – I’m always seeing things in inanimate objects!
Wow Kristie, you have done so much. Love all your blocks and your son’s picture is awesome. Looking forward to the sal and I really liked your crochet blanket, it has given me a few ideas.
Thank you Guida! I am so excited about the SAL – like a kid at Christmas! My dog thinks that’s his blanket, but it’s really mine… ?
