Today I’m talking about my quilting goals for 2019! It’s right around the corner y’all! It’s about time to reflect on what was done & think about what’s coming up next year. I’m linking up with Quilting Jetgirl’s 2019 Planning Party today, so be sure to check out all the other quilty plans for the upcoming year. : )
2018 Finishes
I think I should take a look at what I actually finished first. Then maybe I won’t feel so bad about the things I didn’t finish! Y’all, there are some things on the WIP list that were on last year’s WIP list. Sigh. So many quilts, so little time! Anyway, let’s take a look at the quilts I did finish this year. : )
These first two pictures are of mini quilts from the Monthly Mini Quilt Along on Sew Can She. I only managed to make 2 of these this year! Here’s Flora...
And here’s the 2nd that I can’t seem to find the original post for…
Next on the list is this quilt I made for my husband with Tim Holtz fabrics. This was part of the Fat Quarter Cubes quilt along.
I made a total of 6 doll quilts for Needle & Foot’s Spread the Love quilting event. These were made with blocks from an unfinished QAL. : )
I did finish one other QAL from A Quilting Life & turned it into a doll quilt as well. This one went to a young family member.
This queen sized quilt was made from a special girl’s first year of clothes. She was quite the fashionista!
Last, I have this baby quilt that was another commission. The pattern is my own!
Now that we’ve looked at what I finished, let’s see what still needs to be finished. Ahem.
Quilt Shelf
My shelf of WIPs has changed a bit…
I’ve divided up my scraps into sizes which seems to help me when I’m looking for something in particular. It’s getting a little full though!
The next shelf is filled with WIP boxes, but first let’s see what’s on the bottom two shelves.
2018 Flimsies
These two shelves hold bins of flimsies, backings, & orphaned quilt blocks.
One flimsy I finished this year is high on my list to quilt in 2019. It’s the Postcard from Sweden quilt & I used prints mixed with solids.
Another flimsy finish for me was this 2016 Crossroads quilt top.
Now, I also pulled out this quilt top I designed which has been hanging out far too long!
There’s also the Murder Mystery quilt top from 2016 & this stack of random flimsies given to me by a family member.
Of course, there’s a pile of orphaned quilt blocks too…
- Save the Bees BOM
- Christmas quilt blocks from a book
- Three’s Company BOM
- Snowman QAL
- random paper piecing blocks
At least there’s a good bit of Christmas blocks which will be great for a lap quilt!
WIPs
And now we’re on to the WIP’s, which I’ve realize hold some of the same WIPs from last year. Sigh. This first one is just something I decided to do with all the mini charms I have.
As for the WIPs in the boxes & some other places…
Well, here’s a list…
- Milky Way Sampler QAL
- Mystery Children’s Library QAL
- Aurifil Designer of the Month
- Down the Rabbit Hole
- Murder Mystery
- 2016 Splendid Sampler
- Stars in the Night
- Seminole Sampler
- The Ultimate Sampler Quilt 365 Challenge
I’m still sorting through what I will be keeping & what I will be moving out or into something different. ; )
2019 Quilting Goals
So, I really have one, big goal for this year when it comes to quilting {and other hobbies!} ~>
Just finish it!
That’s my big goal for the year 2019! I’ve got to finish some things to clear out some space or I won’t have a space to work in. I also want to work on getting some of my quilting patterns up in my Etsy shop.
I’m planning on hosting a sort of finish along in my Facebook group, Teadoddles Makers, this coming year. It will be for makers of all kinds. Details coming soon! : D
