Remember me asking if “Finish it Friday” needed a different name? Well, this is what I decided on! I also decided to do it the last Friday of the month instead of the first Friday. Anyway, this will be a roundup of what I’ve been doing for March, things I’ve found on the web, & what’s coming next month. Eventually I hope to have a link up party as part of this so y’all can share your makes too. I just have to figure that out still!

Link Up Parties & Spam Filters
First off, I need to apologize to some bloggers & commenters. There was some interference with my spam filter & a plugin on the blog I wasn’t aware of. If it hadn’t been for another blogger emailing me directly, I might have never seen most of my comments! So, if y’all have tried to comment in the past & got tagged as a spam bot, I apologize! The error is fixed now & I hope you will try again!
I also need to apologize to bloggers that I’ve been linking up to. I didn’t realize it was proper blogging etiquette to link back to the link up party! I’m doing that now & I will be adding the buttons to my side bar.
Remember my DIY Utensil Rack I did back in February? Well it was featured on Funtastic Friday over on Ambient Wares at the end of February. I didn’t even know it happened until this month because of the whole spam filter thing. Thank you for the feature Angie!
My DIY Utensil Rack was also featured on Talk of the Town! This is a link party hosted by five different bloggers every Tuesday evening. Gail from My Repurposed Life chose my project as her pick for the week! Thank you Gail! You can check here for this week’s link up & click the button below to see the link up my post was featured in.
I also link up to Waste Not Wednesday usually through Raggedy Bits or My Thrifty House.
I’ve been linking my sewing/quilting tutorials to Tips & Tutorials Tuesday over on Quilting Jetgirl. Yvonne is the blogger that let me know her comment was being labeled as a spam bot! Thank you so much Yvonne because I might have missed out on some great comments since I was completely in the dark!
All these link ups and bloggers have some great content so y’all go check them out!
Crafty News
Since March is the month for Makers, I’ve been trying to spend time every day making! This didn’t always go as planned but here’s some things I’ve been working on. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen some of this already!
I started out my long week off by cutting down some scraps into strips and squares. This was taking way too long, so I had to put it aside for now! Here’s a peak at that:
That’s all out of one bin and you can’t see it all! : ) I also managed to finish stuffing all the buses & they are ready to go to their new home.
I’m working on a whole pattern with tutorial, so look for that in the coming months. I’ve also started working on sketches & patterns for new quilts. This one is something that’s been in my book for far too long!
I have a fascination with all things mushroom & feathers. I did a little sketching one evening & this will be a mini quilt soon!
Speaking of mushrooms, I also purchased this fabulous mushroom printed spandex a while back. It’s destined to be some fabulous new leggings. ; ) I found the perfect pattern at DG Patterns on Etsy that includes leggings, swing top, tunic, & swing dress for sizes 4 to 22. If you wear size 10 or below, you can get the legging pattern for free at On the Cutting Floor. That waxed linen sample I’m touching is destined to be another project!
I also started a new crochet project – like I needed to do that! This is using the fabulous Red Heart Boutique Boulevard jumbo weight (#7) yarn I got for 99 cents a skein during a flash sale. Unfortunately I will need more to finish! You can find the free pattern over at All About Ami.
I finally picked a center fabric for the Sarah Fielke Down the Rabbit Hole QAL. This is by designer Jennifer Sampou and it’s called Modern Toile in Onyx. It’s going to work perfectly with the Alison Glass 76 fabric I won last month!
I finally broke down and bought some bias tape makers. All I can say is why did I wait so long?!? This is so much easier!! These work for straight binding as well.

Coming Up in April…
OK, there were two things on my last “coming up” list that did not get done this month. This was the first one was remaking my jewelry organizer. Here’s a picture of the area in question ~>
Sorry for the poor lighting, but my bedroom is very dark! I will be working on this, this month because I’m tired of looking at it. : ) The next one was my spring decor. While I did manage to get started, I haven’t finished my mantle shelf makeover yet. Look for that this coming week & here’s a sneak peek!
I’ll also be transforming the items below into some sewing room storage….
Here’s a few more things to look forward to this coming month:
- April 26th ~> Ultimate Homemaking Bundle – This is the kind of bundle that got me hooked on Ultimate Bundles! These are always PACKED with resources and bonuses for all things involving the home. Don’t miss it!
- Graph CAL ~> This is not a definite, but I’m thinking of doing a graph style crochet along. It would be monthly & it would be for nature things like flowers & leaves. I’d appreciate any input on this!
- Weekly health entries ~> I promised to start a journal of sorts logging my progress into getting my gut, & whole self, healthier. You can find the first entry here. All entries can be found under the Thyroid Cancer Information tab.
Ok, I think that’s enough for today! If y’all have any questions or comments, please let me know in the comment section below or you can email me at mammajamma77(at)teadoddles(dot)com. Have a great weekend!
Lol! Don’t worry about not linking back but, thank you for doing so 😉 You’re so talented and I wish I had your sewing skills. I’m always learning!
One day I’d love to have a little shop that provides sewing lessons! It’s a dream of mine. 🙂 For some reason your comments keep going in my trash bin & I’m trying to figure out why!
